How to deal with this?

Ok so my boyfriend came home from school and is now going to go to college in our home town where we both live. He is looking for a job and I already have one so his dad suggeted he work there too. My bf asked me to get him an application so I did and I told him I have it but I'm kind of upset because that was my job. 
Am i being selfish? Also, he's kind of depressed rn and we are having a rough patch in our relationship. Do I ask him to see if he can look somewhere else? I don't want to mix work and my relationship. We've been dating for 3 years

My boyfriend and I work together and its perfectly fine. Its just work. Which is separate from relationship. Its fine to ask him about somewhere else but you have to be able to separate the two in some circumstances. If he needs a job there and you can help him get one then why wouldnt you?

That shouldn't be a problem to ask him if he can work somewhere else I completely understand what you mean it could get complicated if you guys work together

I can say from experience its dangerous to mix work and relationships. I love my fiancé to death but I would probably murder him if I had to deal with him as a coworker. I think its best to tell him and make it very clear that it doesn't mean anything is wrong with your relationship if you don't feel you can work with him. There is a reason why many businesses do not allow spouses or family members to work together.
