My daughter just recently had it. She has a cold and her eyes got infected too. I just put some breastmilk on a cotton ball and cleaned them a few times a day. It cleared it up in two days. If you don't breastfeed just use warm water to clean them.

My son had "sticky eye" as a newborn. His poor little eyes were glued shut with goop like that. You can put breast milk in his eye if your nursing. That worked for us. Or use a clean cotton ball with warm pre boiled water and gently clean the eye often.

Put some expressed breast milk in/on he eye several times a day. It will go away in no time. Use a cotton ball and also wet it with breast milk to wipe away the crust and goo

It could be a blocked tear duct. My lo had it from birth til about 5 months and it went away on its own. Warm compresses and gentle massage! Her eye always looked just like that!

My LO had it too. Doctor said it could be a clooged eye duct.  So she prescribed eye drops shich irritated his eye even more. A week later took him to urgent care cuz it had gotten wayyyy worse. Got ointment instead and cleared up in 2 days.

Most likely blocked tear duct.... if breast feeding put a drop in it 3x a day. They can give ointment and drops. Our pedi told us to use a warm water soaked cotton ball and massage her eye twice a day from top of brow down, and up from the bridge of her nose to the corner of her eye.... 
never did the massage but after 24 hours of breastmilk it was half gone, 2 doses of eye drops, completely gone. Had it from birth....
