What does percentile mean? At 32 wks 6 days my son weighed 4lbs even and I was told he's in the 13th percentile. What does that mean?

It means he's weight is low compared to other babies at this stage. Out of 100%, is baby is in the 13th percentile. It's low, however,  if ur obgyn has said nothing bad about it, then it's ok.

Don't stress too much about percentile unless doctor says there's an issue. My baby girl is 4lbs 4oz at 32 weeks 2 days and is listed in the 45th percentile, with only being 4oz more.

Maybe ask ur doctor about this at the next appt- do you know what ur baby weighed/percentile at your previous ultrasound/appt? With my son, he had IUGR (inter-uterine growth restriction) and was born at 36 weeks weighing just over 2.5 lbs-  we had NO IDEA about this until I delivered unexpectedly. Not trying to scare you, but looking back, we saw his weight and percentile range dropping over the last two ultrasounds I had, but the doctors said unless the baby's weight goes below 10%, it doesn't flag as a concern..... If something doesn't seem right to you, i would definitely talk more with ur doctor about that and ask for further testing and follow up. Worst case, it's nothing and ur just being a concerned mommy to be!!😉 let me know what happens. Xoxox
