When should I announce??

Question

I'm 6w3d pregnant and JUST had my first ultrasound. My blood work came back with good numbers, the baby's size is perfect, and he or she has a 120 heartbeat!!! My family already suspects it and I hate lying to them about it, it should be a joyous time BUT, I miscarried a couple years ago. I'm tied! What should I do? 
Also - My Dr. said I "shouldn't" worry about miscarrying this go around, that most women don't misscary more than once. Is this true?

My friend had 4 miscarriages in a row so she stopped announcing it until she hits 12 weeks. She is pregnant again and hopefully the new one will stick.

Up to you, completely. We told our families at 5w4d because it happened to fall on Christmas, and the opportunity was too good to pass up. We're not announcing on social media until between 12-14 weeks, depending on how motivated I'm feeling for a little photo shoot, since I've been quite sick lately. You do what you're comfortable with.

I think it would be fine to announce to your parents and maybe a close friend. IF you were to miscarriage again you may want their support. And then tell people once your past the 12 week mark. I announced to my family and close friends when I found out at 3 1/2 weeks and then on social media at 12 weeks.
