kicks or punches?

Does anyone know how to tell a kick from a punch? I have been seeing my belly move a lot, and feeling a lot of jabs above my belly button. The baby has been breech in my last few ultrasounds (head up at 20 weeks, sideways at 24 weeks). I always felt movements really low... like in my pelvis or even jabs to the bladder and cervix. I felt those with my daughter too, but she was always head down. Today I have only felt movements on the top half of my bump. Do you think it's safe to say he flipped to head down, or am I likely feeling punches? I'm 26+2 today. I am really scared of having a breech baby and needing a c-section, so I have really been trying to figure out his position.
