Breech baby. What happens if I go into labor??

37 weeks and my baby boy is still breech, so I've been scheduled for a c-section as I expected, but only 3 days before my due date! As a FTM I wonder what happens if I go into labor before this date...will they do an emergency section or try to deliver the baby breech?? I'm so scared!

As a first time mom you're labor is unlikely to go fast enough for them to do an "emergency" C-section so if you do go into labor it's just a different treatment plan than those that are planning a vaginal delivery. They'll get you settled and unless the baby has progressed more quickly than would be expected, they just move the section up.  This first time babies tend to take their time so chances are you'll have plenty of time to get there and prepped for surgery! Rest easy momma!!

Have you ever heard of an External Cephalic Version? They basically flip your breech baby head down by moving the baby through your abdomen. If a vaginal birth is important to you you should look it up and ask your doctor about it.

My son was breech, his c-section was scheduled at 38 weeks. I don't like that they are only scheduling 3 days in advance. Try to discuss this further, it doesn't really sound right to me 🤔 Just be sure to really track your contractions, and go to the hospital if there are 5 sharp menstrual like contractions in an hour. They will do an emergency c-section if baby decides to come early, just be very mindful of your body.
