Diaper Size not Matching Weight?

Hi everyone just wondering .. my daughter is in size three diapers (Pampers swaddlers) which up until before we started solids was great! We had tried huggies but had blowouts with them. So she is 6 months and 16 pounds well within the weight limits. But her poops have become SO MESSY!! Like I try and clean them and poop is getting on stuff! It goes right up to the line almost at the back. So, my question is even though pampers size 4 starts at 22 pounds and she's 16 pounds (and her current size is supposed to last to 28 pounds) should I move her up a size? She has a round tummy but is by no means a fat baby she's chubby but she's 15-50% percentile for everything! Any advice??

I have 3 kids, they're always in a size bigger than the box weight limit. I.find looser diapers don't explode as much. Make sure there's plenty of room on the bottom to where you can pinch it an inch or so, same Wyeth the clothes, the onesies or pants should be roomy in the bottom so it doesn't put pressure on the diaper when full.

I never looked at the weight recommendations for diaper sizes. You can tell by the fit and mess if she needs to go up a size.

Normal. We always have to move up in size before the weight range is technically passed. Any time we notice excess leaks or something, we try a size up and usually it's fixed!

My son always outgrew his diapers even though he was in the weight range, it was usually a case of his length and how his legs were. You should move her up a size and see how it goes it always worked for me. He evened out once he got to size 4 which he stayed in that size for over a year.

We have found this to be true for my son as well. He's currently wearing size 4 or 5 in diapers depending on the brand but is only 22 pounds. It just depends on how they fit. Buy a small pack of size 4 to try. You may like them better. Also try the Pampers baby drys we liken them the best. I usually don't like Huggies either but recently tried the over nights ones and I actually loved them! So buy different sizes to try and see what you think.

Is she sitting up? We had issues for a while cos of how she'd sit while pooping. It would all go up and often out the back. Now she's on more solids to milk her poops are more solid so less messy and we're OK. I've found going up nappy size earlier means pee leaks out the sides.

I've never went off "size matching" with diapers and I also dont like loose fitting diapers either. Snug diapers and a little tighter. I've never had a really bad blowout with any of my kids before. It could be that you have the diapers too loose and this is why the blowouts are happening.

I would move up a size. My kids were never in the weight limit and always I'm a size up if they leaked in diapers

My daughter is very average size and I tried moving her up a diaper size early. I found that she leaked more because I couldn't get them tight enough around her legs. But maybe buy a small pack and try it?
