Home grown?

Firstly let me say my oh and I are British lamb producers and after a trip to the supermarket today my oh questioned how long it took me to pick a bag of apples. I explained that I wanted British apples so had to check the labels, he asked why and I explained that I always try and buy British produce where I can in support of British farmers, in the hope that maybe the apple producer down in Kent might do the same and buy british lamb. It got me wondering whether many other people check labels and actively buy produce from their home country or whether people just pick the product regardless of where it comes from. Don't get me wrong I know here in the UK we can't produce everything, ie bananas but I always buy British meat and tend to eat what is in season in Britain, ie we don't eat strawberries all year, just when they are in season here rather than buying Spanish strawberries at other times... So my question is do you pay attention to where your produce comes from?
