Pediatrician issues. Advice?!
So my daughter got her 2 month shots yesterday around 10am. At the appointment the pediatrician told me to go ahead and give Tylenol every 4-6 hours for the next day and a half. I gave her the last dose at 3am and she was fine so I haven't given it since. Well, I took her temperature just now and it was 99.6 so I gave her another dose and rang the office to ask the nurse. The receptionist (who is young and not a nurse) took the message then proceeded to tell me that this is why they advise NOT to give Tylenol after--- without the Tylenol you can see how the baby responds to the shots on her own. She said since I gave her Tylenol after the appointment we don't know her real temperature. This is opposite to what the doctor said. Anyway, I then asked what to do if it gets over 100.4 and she said just continue to give Tylenol.
I hung up then realized that this girl has no clue what she's saying. Why is she giving me advice when I asked for the nurse?
I called back and requested for the nurse to call (on voicemail) and she calls back again and says that she talked to the doctor and he DID tell me to take the Tylenol and continue to do so since she has a low fever.
