Vaginismus
Hi everyone! I wasn't sure where to post this, there isn't really a group for topics like this. But I wanted to ask a question and maybe have a little dialogue about Vaginismus.
For those who don't know, Vaginismus is a condition where the muscles in the vagina and pelvis contract and force the opening closed, making it impossible and extremely painful to have intercourse. It can be the result of insecurity, stress, physical factors, trauma to area (sexual assault or childbirth) and sometimes just because. It's something that is really not talked about in to sexual education.
I was diagnosed this year, after I was sexually assaulted the year before and it was so hard being in a relationship and not understanding why my body was working against me.
I've tried talking to someone, preparing myself mentally, and self hypnosis and nothing seems to help. Anyone out there who Vaginismus and manage to get through it? What helped? Where can I go?
I hope this post can be helpful to anyone else out there who is lost as well 😊
Also: Vaginismus is not about needing to be relaxed and ready. It's something uncontrollable, like a sneeze. Please be respectful!
