GENDER IDENTITY: What does cis mean?
Cisgender means that the gender someone was assigned at birth matches up with the gender that they feel matches their identity. Navigating gender norms can be weird AF for cis people as well as trans* folks, but it's important to remember that cis people have privilege.
This privilege looks like navigating a world where people read their gender properly, and don't put up a fuss when they go on the bus, for example, or walk into a bathroom stall.
Everybody has to pee! If you're cisgender, and see someone who is trans* and the target of bullying in your community, speak up!
