oversupply issues
I am having some serious oversupply issues. I literally pumped 12.5 oz in one sitting last night as my husband fed her a bottle. My baby is 6 weeks old and has used a nipple shield until last week I was finally able to wean her. The LC had me pumping after every feed to build my supply since apparently you get less stimulation with the shield and it can hurt your supply. Well now that she is latching and doesn't use a shield she is getting the flow a lot faster. She chokes and coughs often and pulls off and cries. I have multiple forceful letdowns. She is unable to comfort nurse now because she having to work to hard to swallow constantly and it's really messing with her sleep because she can't relax. I don't want her to hate nursing :( I've started with cutting out a pump session a day and plan to drop one more each week until I can only pump when she misses a feed since I'm going back to work in 4 weeks. Does anyone have any other suggestions to fix this without completely tanking my supply?
