Where do you plan to breastfeed when you get home?

FTM here. 28weeks and planning ahead for when we get home from hospital. We plan to have our baby downstairs in our room in a bassinet for the first few months and then will move him/her to our babies room upstairs when the time is right. I am just trying to figure out though where would be best to do night time feeds.. especially when my husband goes back after his two weeks paternity leave. Do I get a chair for inside our room or go to lounge room or other space so he can sleep... love to hear what you are doing and any suggestions! Xx

I don't think breastfeeding is particularly loud so unless your SO is a very light sleeper I would just breastfeed in bed to make it easier on yourself. It should also make it so that your baby falls asleep more quickly after feeding

I started off nursing in bed but got so paranoid that I would fall asleep holding baby in bed that I eventually moved to the rocker in nursery. (Everyone's different with their opinions on baby in bed and I am am not comfortable with It). I was also changing him every time he woke at the beginning so it made sense to bring him into the nursery since that's where the changing table is. You could have a changing "station" outside your bedroom with some wipes, a blanket and diapers next to a rocker or couch to nurse on outside your room so you aren't disturbing your husband but you also don't have to trudge upstairs to the nursery.

I'm going to breastfeed anywhere any time 🙌🏻 you need to be in a position/atmosphere where you feel relaxed or you will have a hard time with feedings.

Third baby and I breastfeed In bed. I fall back to sleep while they eat, it's heaven.

We will have the bassinet next to the bed, and I'm planning on breastfeeding in bed at night. If it bothers my husband, we already discussed he was free to sleep in the guest room when he had to get up for work the next day.

With my first I just breast fed in bed, I also had a chair, but the bed was better.

We bought a cosleeper bed that fits between us in bed, it's what feels most comfortable for us. So I'll nurse in bed and baby will always be within arm's reach but protected in their own sleeper.

Will be breastfeeding in bed while baby is in our room. I took a breastfeeding class and it's actually much easier for baby in the beginning to latch correctly if you are at about a 45 degree angle in bed.

I'll probably breastfeed in bed or use the nursery which is next to our bedroom where my glider is. Depends 🤷🏻‍♀️

Im going to start breastfeeding in bed when baby is tiny my SO wont wake up lol and i have a chair in the babies room for when she moves into her own room 😀
