4 week old never happy?

This seems a really silly thing to post, I know not all babys are happy and chirping away, esp when they're this little.. but my LO is never happy. When I say never, he goes to sleep, wakes up screaming, when he eats he often comes off the boob screaming, screams until he finally goes to sleep on one of us (either whilst feeling or with much hard work) and then the cycle starts all over again. You can't put him down or he will yell, any kind of position change when he is feeding or sleeping will wake him up and if we are lucky he will settle back down. He was very gassy, but we seems to be managing this much better with drops, I don't think it's colic as it is around 90% of the time, we have tried swaddling, gas drops, obviously him is always changed when new, rocking doesn't help, white noise hasn't helped.. we get maybe 1 hour of awake, relatively content time a day, I find myself praying that he will stay asleep just an extra 5 minutes so I don't have to hear him screaming again. I am just so upset that I can't seem to make this tiny little person, who I completely adore, happy no matter what i do.. feeling a little frazzled and lacking in sleep so apologies for the horrible grammar, just feeling a little lost as to what we can try now!
