Have you experienced having your child's grandparents ignore your wishes for how they're raised?

This just seems controversial to me because of all the grandparents who feel like it's their place to make decisions or undermine the parents' choices. I see posts online all the time about doing whatever the mother wants because it's her kid, but is that just not resonating with people? I'm experiencing this and my child isn't even here yet. I shared a funny, exaggerating video from Similac about what it's like to take your kids out to dinner (the kids were running wild, screaming, etc. Like I said, it was exaggerating) and my mother commented that I should teach my daughter to behave in restaurants or grandma would have to buy a fly swatter. She says she doesn't believe in spanking but she did spank us as children and will threaten to spank my nieces and nephews when she's keeping them... their parents don't care because they spank, but my husband and I are choosing to discipline without spanking and she knows that so I feel like she's completely ignoring what we want.
