Do you agree with piercing babies ears?

In my opinion I think it's wrong. I know they say it is less painful for an infant but hello its piercing skin and why would it hurt less at a certain age? I also think it should be his/her decision. If he/she wants it done bad enough when they are older they will go through the pain. Also when the child is older they may have religious beliefs that go against piercing. I understand that the hole can grow back but the spot is still there. I just don't believe in piercing my baby's skin for the sake of vanity.
