1 year old called weird

My son just turned 1 and is constantly being called weird by family members. He doesn't like watching TV unless the show is a singing show. And he is shorter than his father's family expected because I am very short and his dad is over 6 ft. And he is constantly being made fun of because of his head. I have expressed multiple times I don't like what's going on and keep getting told to lighten up. I'm an over protective mom because my son has had issues since he was born. He had a tongue tie and has three lip ties he had stomach problems and had emergency surgery at 6 weeks old because of three hernias. I want him to be able to play with his cousins and am totally fine with it but I get worried and scared because of everything he has been through. My SO family are very irritated that I'm like this and make fun of me for it. What can I do. I feel like I'm ruining his childhood.
