How to restrict/cut down daily eating?
This is not for weight loss or anything like that. This is a bit of a scary issue I'm having right now.
So I'm a type 1 diabetic in college. Finals is next week and I go back home the Saturday after this week's. BUT IM RUNNING OUT OF MY INSULIN. I take a short and long acting one and I'm running out of my short acting one which I have to take for eating!
My mom already came to visit me last Wednesday to bring me another insulin pen and I have no idea how but I went through like 80 units in 4 days and now I only have enough to dose 12 units a day until my mom comes to get me (and I normally dose 18 units a day).
I need to restrict my eating if I'm going to make it these next two weeks on limited insulin. I can't ask my mom to bring me more, she has a stressful job and my other siblings at home so I don't want to make her more stressed out having to make the four hour trip here again before she comes to get me.
Any advice??
How do you suppress your hunger/cravings?
EDIT: I have more insulin from my doctor, but it's at home in the fridge. The insulin pens stay in the fridge until I need to take one out to use it. Otherwise if they aren't in the fridge they will all become active and expire in 30 days. My mom brought me another insulin pen less than a week ago from home and I didn't think I'd need more than one to cover these last 2.5 weeks of school then. The best option would be to ask her or my older sister to bring another one to me but the driving eats up the day and is very tiring and both of them are stressed in work and life right now. I just hate making people's lives harder. Maybe I can call my doctor tomorrow and talk to them about sending an emergency prescription to a pharmacy here. Just nervous because I've never had to do that before
