Is it okay to skip placebo week?

So I've been on the birth control pill for almost a year. I have skipped the placebo week a couple of times but never in a row/ consistently. I'm just getting tired of barely having any period/spotting  but cramps and hot flashes during my placebo week. Why not just skip it? Ha!

So I guess my question is- would it be okay to skip the placebo week every month? How often should I take a break and have a period?

If you're rarely having a period as it is then I don't see why it would make a difference. It would be best to consult your doctor as you shouldn't change how you take medications without a doctors input.

I haven't been on the pill, but I've heard and read that it's perfectly fine to skip the placebo week as long as you don't skip it once or twice a year.

when i was on the pill i never took the placebo week😂 i didn't think you needed to take it since it wasn't an actual medication or anything.

When I was on the pill I was told not more than 3 consecutive months. Every 4th month at least should be left to do its thing :P

It's best to discuss this with your doctor first, but I've heard not to do it more than 3 months in a row.
