Leaving breastfed baby with the grandparents??

My husband and I are visiting family for the whole month because we live across the country. My husband and I want to go to the beach for a day to get some alone time just the two of us.  Our baby is 2 months and breastfeeding.  I pumped more than enough to last,  but what are some things that could happen besides the obvious mommy worry.  My mother says she left my brother for a few days for a retreat when he was 3 months and he only wanted a bottle from then on. You think that will happen with our baby? I would be so heartbroken 💔

Has he had a bottle before?  It could be he refuses the bottle altogether and you would have to come back to feed.

My daughter had a VERY hard time taking a bottle and still does not do too well with it and only at daycare.

We've been switching back and forth between bottle and breast since my daughter was a few days old. She still latches on like a pro. I would really recommend it, it gives you a bit more flexibility and helps daddy and others bond with the baby. Also agree with others - try introducing the bottle well in advance, it may take some time to get your baby used to it.

I leave my baby with his grandma for a couple hours here and there and he is ebf and is fine with bottles but he still prefers nursing.

Aprt from the bottle issue if you are away a long time, you will need to pump to keep your supply up!
