Is it okay for people to jokingly say you're a bad parent?

It happens to me often and I get mad but everyone just tells me I'm "too sensitive" or "easily offended"

It depends on who says it, the context, and their tone of voice.

No. It's never okay, under any circumstances. With as many truly BAD parents as there are- abuse, neglect and such- I don't EVER consider it 'funny' to call a good parent a bad one. Sorry.

I get that too because many feel it's selfish to have six children but all mine are well taken care of. I'm really sensitive and take total offense to it. I go off on those that say it no matter if they claim it to be a joke or not

I haven't even had my kid yet and my siblings are already saying I'll be a mom like Madea. I took it as a compliment but if you don't like what they're saying, tell them to sod off!
