Any women here married to a convicted felon?

So first off, if you're just going to comment to judge me then please just exit now. I'm not here for opinions I'm just asking for some advice. Anyways, my boyfriend is a convicted felon and was in prison for 3 years. He has changed his ways and got away from all of the negative things in his life. I'm in love with him and we're thinking about marriage in the future. I of course want to marry him, but I'm nervous about any disadvantages that can come with marrying a felon. Anyways, I appreciate any advice, thank you so much 😊

I am. He left that life behind 9y ogo. We live in a small town. Its still very hard for him to get a job. I make decent money so he is a stay at home dad mostly. He does odd jobs and brings home money, but its seasonal or per diem. Its not always easy but he does his best and he's a dann good father. Its not ideal for most but he is my partner and best friend.

Ok, so there's the "hard to find a job" issues and "not being able to be on a lease" issue and the "no voting" thing depending where you live. Then there's the "inability to own or be in the presence of a firearm" issue, and the "unable to get a passport" issue...NONE of which will affect your love or the bond y'all have and ALL of which have solutions!! 
If he stays motivated and persistent, he'll find and keep employment, some places will allow felons, you just have to look hard enough, not all states take away your voting rights, guns aren't a necessity to survive (yet lol) and some offenses do not prevent your ability to obtain a passport. All the issues that may arise can be fixed as long as you are willing to be patient with him.
 If he is a good person and a good man to and for you, there's no reason he should also have to battle a "keeping a relationship" issue in top of everything else that has been affected in his life. ❤❤❤

I'm not married to a felon, but my husband has 2 very good rmfriends who have both done 3 yrs, one for marijuana possession and the other for having grow houses. They both served thier time, and are hard working good men. I think every felon in different,  I wouldn't marry a rapist or murderer, but a man who got a stupid drug charge, maybe

I'm about to be married to one and life is great he did 3 years in prison also and changed his life around. It's been 8 years since his felony and he actually has a great job as a electrician at first it was hard for him to get a job but it will be someone to give him a chance especially if it's been a couple of years since his felony

I am not but my sister was. He was in prison for two years and out for less than one when they met. They dated for two years but ultimately as she moved up in her career, he was only able to get minimum wage jobs and it caused a ton of problems in their relationship.

Girl, it's honestly ridiculous how people serve their time in prison but when they get out they're still punished everyday.

It may be hard to deal with. There are going to be things he can't do and employment is always a struggle. But his past shouldn't have to hinder your future together. Be supportive and don't worry! I know he'll be okay.

look into a a job in a trade...they don't judge that as harsh.
