road trip with a 1 year old?

In 2 weeks we are traveling to Canada 🇨🇦 via car to see Niagra Falls, Montreal and Toronto. It will be our first ever road trip and it's 6-8 hours. Anyone have any tips on how to keep my son happy on the road? We are planning on making a stop at the halfway point to see a museum and get food but it is still the longest he will have ever been in a car. Any advice is appreciated.

Yes the snacks are drinks are good to have. Take books and other thing to keep him interned. If he has favorite movies take them and let him watch them. The largest trip my oldest has been on is 13 hours and is wasn't fun the first few times. The longest my daughter has been in a trip is 8 hours and she did great. She slept most of the trip.

My son has been going on road trips (3-5 hours, 5 being the longest) since he was 5 months old. He is so used to being in the car, he doesn't mind road trips. Lol But my advice would be to pack plenty of snacks, drinks, and entertainment!
