Anybody else ready to stop breastfeeding?

breastfeeding?" /> I love my son to death! And I love that I can feed him with my own breasts, but he's 5 months old and is constantly feeding... I'm so cranky and emotional all the time because I get very little sleep.. my poor husband gets the blunt of it... is it bad that I'm counting down the months till I can stop?.. yes I know I can stop any time but formula is sooooo expensive...

My dirty secret is that I am still BFing and my son is almost 20 months....so yes, definitely ready.

Formula is expensive, but breastfeeding is NOT free.  If it is taking a mental toll on you and you find yourself feeling resentful of your husband or child, the "savings" may not be worth it.

If you want to quit...fed is best, but if you dip your toes in the water before taking the leap, you could try a BFing hybrid - for example my mom bf at night and formula fed during the day.

No way. My son is 17 months old and still nurses like a newborn. He's never had a bottle at all and I get emotional thinking about weaning. I'm letting him self wean but I hope it's no time soon. Lol.

I'm going for the year and my baby is 11 months, so I am THIS close 👌 maybe I'm in the minority but I just have never gotten the warm fuzzies from breastfeeding. It's just something I do because it's best for my baby.. But it has definitely become a chore to me. I can't wait to have my body back to myself and not have to worry about pumping or supply or working my life around her feedings... and I feel like I can never enjoy myself because the second I leave the house to get groceries or just for me time, I'm on a clock and all I can think about is I have to be home in a certain number of hours to pump or feed.

I plan to stop when my son is ready to stop ! Whether that be 6months or 6 years old ! When he is ready he will tell me.

I love the alone time I get with my baby. I appreciate it so much because she is my little tiny baby. And yah sometimes it gets overwhelming but over all I want it as long as I can. It's my special time with her

I've ebf my 18mo who constantly twiddles and bites. She has 16 teeth and has bitten me so hard and so often that I've bled multiple times. I die a little inside every time she bites, but when I look down at her beautiful eyes, I remember how worth it it is for us to stick it out until 24mo.

Same boat almost exactly! Feel like I can't do anything without my daughter now. She eats almost every hour and a half and won't take a bottle. I feel trapped. Post partum depression is no joke. I had to seek help from family. Hubby just didn't get what was so hard about it. You're not alone.

Yes!!!! I felt exactly the same way at 5 months of BF. my goal was to feed for 6 months which is what I did. U do what is right for you. Set a goal for when u want to stop and then try to achieve that goal. If you decide to stop sooner, that's fine too!
