In law help

My FIL is wealthy and uses his money to control us ... The reason he has so much money is that he abandoned his children and never paid child support etc.

He has taken to belittling my parents for "not supporting" us. My parents live right around the corner and help us out CONSTANTLY. They have raised 3 kids and my father was in a horrible accident leaving him jobless for 2 years so no they don't throw money at us.

I just want to cry, I love my parents so much, they're so good to us. I feel like defending them but my husband doesn't want me to ruffle feathers.

What would you do?
