Should people have to pass an IQ test before voting?

Question

To clarify by IQ test I'm not referring to being good in math, science, etc. I mean being knowledgeable and aware about current problems in your country & the stance of the politicians you are voting for. People that received a "failing grade" wouldn't be able to vote.

something like "Does Donald Trump support efforts to prevent climate change"-----

•••• do you think that something like this would make people make more informed decisions before voting. Would it be fair? Comments? ••••

No, that would disproportionately effect under-privileged people, taking their voices away and making their lives even more difficult

No, it's one of the rights that Americans have as citizens. I could also see it as being abused. Like if you went and took your test at a place that leaned more left than conservative (or the other way around), and you were more educated on the rights candidates than the lefts, I could see them throwing away or 'failing' your test.

That is the absolute worst idea I've ever heard. Firstly, you may not be educated on every candidate, possibly just your own. Secondly when I vote I really look into the policies the candidate supports, that takes time, and like most adults some months I don't have the time to research them all. So basically whoever makes the test deems what questions people should know the answer to. And they may have an agenda, or may find certain policies more important than others. Just no. No tests to vote. Next thing you know you'll need a psych evaluation before voting.

The questions on this IQ test would be rather subjective based on the views of the person taking the test, and the person who wrote the test.

I am more in favor of students being required to pass a basic civics test in order to gradutate high school.

When you watch them interview those people on tv in the run up to the election - the really misinformed ones- you do kinda wonder if this is a good idea🤷‍♀️

I wish, but it would be wrong to take away the right from some voters, no matter how uninformed they may be.
Voting is a right and privilege, not a duty or obligation. If you don't know what you're voting for, please don't.
