Ear infections are really hard for kids to communicate. Even when my daughter was slightly older and communicating she had a hard time explaining that she was in pain and where it was coming from. Our first clue was her having difficulty sleeping, constantly tossing and turning the entire night etc. The other one that can be tricky is UTI's.
