Memorials along the road/highways
It's obvious that there are car related deaths everyday. Some go unknown, while others are recognized through media attention and memorial signs/crosses along the roadways. As I was driving to work today, I noticed a new largish cross (probably as tall as a 4 year old). It got me thinking. In the nicest way possible, I know people are grieving and this is a way to grieve, but I just find them distracting. They are colorful, usually have flowers or some ive seen have lights around them.
I understand that you want others to see what can happen when you drive, or others drive dangerously, but they always take my eyes off the road. Does anyone else agree? Do you think these memorial markers are distracting? Do you ever see them in your area? I'm from Missouri and I don't remember if I've seen them anywhere else that isn't considered apart of the "Bible Belt".
