Sore Vulva?

Okay so this literally happened today and suddenly, but I was walking when all of a sudden my labia majora started hurting like a stinging pain? It is slightly red and isn't really swelling but it hasn't happened before and it hurts like hell when it's touched in any way. It's really hot and I hate it so much tbh. Anyone know what it might be? I was told it could be contact dermatitis which might make sense considering dermatitis can be hereditary and my mother has it but it could literally be anything?
