Kids or no kids?

Question

So ladies.. I was wondering about what personally made you guys want to have kids or not have kids? My fiancé and I talk about it and we've decided that we are okay with not having children. Not saying that I won't change my mind one day, but as of today in my life, I can't see myself having children. I might change my mind in 5, 6, 7, years! Maybe not! Who truly knows. (I currently am 22 and he's 25) so we are on the same page. But maybe if there was something in your life that made you sure that you wanted them or didn't want them. Would love to hear from everyone!

I grew up in a big family, and I always knew that I wanted that same environment for my future kids and family. And my husband grew up in foster care, so he didn't really know what a real family was until he was adopted when he was older, so he always wanted a big, close knit family because he felt it was something he missed out on growing up. For us, the question wasn't ever whether to have kids, but rather how many to have. 
On the flip side, I have a cousin who never wanted kids. His wife didn't either. They are both in their 30's, and just welcomed a (unplanned, but happily accepted and very loved) baby boy. 
It's a personal choice, and one that should be made solely by you and your s/o. After all, of you ever do have kids, you'll be the ones raising them, no one else. So do what's right for you. If what's right for you is being a happy little family of 2, then embrace it and enjoy life together. And if it ever changes, then embrace the change when it comes.

I'm 31 and felt emotionally and mentally ready to care for another human being. We'll see when they arrive though. 😄 lol

My mom had babies when I was a teen and I was one of their primary caregivers. I liked being an almost-parent to them and wanted to do it 100% one day. I didn't feel actually ready for it, emotionally and financially, until I was 28. I had my son just before my 30th birthday and it's been as much fun as I imagined so far.

I have always known I wanted kids. Taking care of others has always been my purpose. I feel like my children are my opportunity to create real change I the world. Building better humans to leave to the world. That being said, there is absolutely nothing wrong with not wanting children. It's not the life everyone wants and it's not everyone's calling. Live your life the way that makes you happy and fulfilled.

I'm 38. I still don't want kids. I have. Blood disorder that makes me high risk I was told I or the child would be lucky to survive pregnancy. I've had two miscarriages with protection that failed. My guy is 28 and still want kids some day. I honestly think that may never happen at this rate. I always didn't want them because I never wanted to put myself through miscarriages or still born etc. Growing up I thought by the time I was 30 I would have been married with 3 kids. But clearly I got dealt a different hand.  Having my blind and autistic nephew at the same time as I had the spawn of Satan children for Sunday school. My pastor would pick up the kids from drug and alcohol parents. I would have to break up fights like a referee. Kick knives out of their hands you name it. Between them and my nephew flipping out at the mall one day that I literally had to drag him on the floor by his legs kicking and screaming on the floor out of the mall and them at the same time broke me of wanting them. I was born to be a loving be supportive wife. That's something I know I will be good at. Been with my guy 5 years. Best relationship we both have ever been in. I was more open to kids after losing two at 4 and 2 months. But I got a feeling we rent having any unless we adopt. But I enjoy it being just us honestly. Silence. Privacy. Sleeping In. We are each other priority. He never feels left out or neglected. All things that can change with kids.

We both just adore children and animals. I realize one is not the same as the other. But we are both very nurturing and get a lot of fulfillment from taking care of others. I think it's incredibly romantic to combine my genes with his and create a new human. Life will be more interesting with little ones. I've reached my childfree saturation point. We really can't wait, my husband will be the best dad ever and our dog will be the best big brother.

My boyfriend and I are both 25. We are from different countries and we live in his home country. Here, it is expected that when you get married, you will have a kid  For the first three years I was here, that scared the shit out of me. I didn't want to bring a baby into this crazy world. But shortly after I started dating this guy, he told me that he wanted to marry me and have a baby with me. At first, i thought he was being funny. But after he said it, it got me thinking. I realized how great of a father he would be. And how happy he makes me. And he is kind of the reason why I changed my mind about whether or not to have kids. I love him and having his child would make him happy and it would make me happy as well. Though I do hope he prefers to wait a few years. I want to be happily married for a few years before I'm stuck pregnant for 9 months. Haha.

Im 21 and I've been very admit since I was 16 that I never wanted kids but that all change when I met my boyfriend who want kids so bad. However I told myself if I do have kids I want 10 kids so here we are trying to conceive.
