Would you be angry if your MIL fed your 6 month old baby this?
It all started when my son was 4 months old and just starting puréed foods (doctor advised it), she fed him wee bits of a doughnut.... she opening told me this and I didn't know what to say. Then another time she fed him bits of cake and yesterday she fed him chocolate shortbread! My husband told me this via text. I am annoyed that she done this! I only give my son organic pouches/jars and I'm very careful about sugar content in yogurt ect. Would you be angry if your MIL done this? She seems to think it's normal even though I have told her what the guidelines are. I know everything was different back in our parents day but she is aware of what is ok and what's not. She made mashed potatoes one night and made them so thick he gagged on them and started being sick. She said that he must not like them even thought obviously the consistency was far too thick for a baby that is used to puréed foods. Sorry for the rant but I want to know if I should say anything to her, I feel like she should ask me if it's ok first.
