Baby Shower

How long before your due date did you mamas have your baby shower? I'm a first time mom so I have nothing baby wise other than a few things I have been picking up here and there. Both mine and my husbands parents want to get us "big" gifts such as car seat/ stroller/ bassinet type things, so I won't have any of that until after the shower, which is super amazing that they want to get it but kinda stressful not having it already...
