Turning living room into bedroom?

Has anyone ever turned their living room into a bedroom? We have a 2 bedroom apartment, the rooms are tiny but the living room is nice sized. We are trying for another baby, we have a 2 year old. Her room barely fits her crib, dresser, and toys. The closets are a joke 😖😖😖
So we were thinking of turning the living room into our bedroom and our bedroom into a nursery. Has anyone ever done this? Looking for ideas

We live in a tiny house ( like tiny house nation) my sons space is under the stairs ... our choice ! His bed is a 6ft bean bag and he is 7

I'd say it really depends on the entrance to your home. Like does your door open right into your living room? Because if so, you may find it annoying fast. Also is there a common apartment hallway sharing a wall with your living room, and will you be able to sleep through people moving around out there. I say this because our old apartment, the entry was in the living room and that door was NOT sound or SMELL proof. Anything that was in the common hallway we could hear and smell, so sleeping in our living room would have been impossible.  
I'm not saying this to discourage you, I'm just suggesting you consider these things before you start moving furniture. Maybe try sleeping on an air mattress out there for a few nights and test it out, if it works, then rearrange everything.  Parents of little ones get so little sleep as it is, you don't want to mess with what you do get!

I live in a two bedroom (1100sqft) with my 3 kids (20, 17, 17) and hubby. Gave up the bedrooms years ago bc it was more important for the kids to have space as they grew. My living room is 400 sq ft, and we easily converted one half of it into a bedroom. Queen bed, with large bookshelves as head and foot boards and a large Japanese folding wall. Still have sitting area with large couch and chaise. Only concern is privacy. Had to put bells on the hallway door so we can hear when someone comes into the living room. It's totally doable. A lot of people in Europe live with a combo living/bedroom.

You could probably do something with a Murphy bed if you could screw into the wall. That would work pretty well
