D&C question ?

Question

Did anyone get another ultrasound following the d and c to make sure there was nothing left ? 
I had a d and c because after I had my baby I had some leftover placenta 
I asked for an ultrasound and they said it wasn't necessary? I guess I'm just freaking out over possibly having some leftover ? 
It's been 2 weeks since the d and c the only thing I still have is mild cramping every now and then and bleeding on and off

i had an abortion before and my doctor  (whom i sued and won- and he no longer practices), gave a check up and said all looks fine, no need for a d and c. he was 100% wrong.  i went home and within a week, my privates started smelling like death. i washes every 20 minutes because of it. i was in a lot of pain. called him and he said again all was fine and to give it a few days.  i did. i got a fever of 102 on my 6th day. went to the er and was told that i had remains stuck hanging off my cervix,  that decomposed and not allowed my cervix to close.  i also developed SEPSIS and was told that had i waited another 4 days,  i would have died. was given a d and c and prescribed antibiotics along with staying in the hospital for 5 days to make sure im ok. the bill was 75k. contacted my lawyer. made a case, went to court.  he had to pay my entire hospital bill in full. and i also got money from him for mental and physical damages. ALWAYS get a doctor to confirm all is well and no need for a d and c.  and if things dont seem right, go to the er

I never went to my follow up.  They pretty much  suck  it all out.
