Rant! do you have a set bedtime for baby/ kids?

my 8 year old has an 8 oclock bedtime for the summer. my baby has his bath around 6:15-6:30 then hes in bed by 7. ive been having people unable to understand that i stay home in the evening so that my baby will sleep! he still wakes often, and knowing that i put him down by 7 i have a little bit of time before he wakes again. people tell me well babies adapt. you dont understand that? or so what you just dont go out? 《said by my mil... no i dont go out. but then, i never did go out much. this is what we are doing. this is how we are raising our kids. my 8 year old is fine staying up late every now and again, so thats okay, but by 630 if the baby isnt in the bath he will get very tired and cranky, and no he will not just fall asleep anywhere. he gets overstimulated and tired and upset. i do this for my sanity as well as anyone elses. these are my kids. my decisions i dont understand how some people ( who have had children) dare to tell me my baby will adapt to a situation like being out for 4 hours after gis bedtime when even if we go home at like 730 it takes hours to finally get him down. sorry rant done.
