Baby kicks with stethoscope!?

Kyli • 24. Married to my best friend. Pregnant with my little rainbow 🌈👶🏼🎀.

Hey ladies, first time Mom here, and just curious if anyone else has tried this and/or knows what they're hearing if so! Okay, so I have a really nice stethoscope that my husband bought me as a gift because I plan on going to nursing school when I get out of the military, and I decided to see if I could hear my baby moving around in there! I'm only 17 weeks and 5 days, so I knew I wouldn't be able to hear the heartbeat, but I figured maybe I could hear some movement, but I wasn't really sure what to listen for. I have an anterior placenta which means I might not feel baby move as early as some, but my midwife told me around 18 weeks to press down on my lower abdomen for about a minute and maybe I could feel baby kick if I was lucky. So, with my stethoscope, I pressed it down on my lower abdomen and laid super still. I heard bumps and thuds occasionally and then at one point I swear I felt my little girl kick because it was the strangest feeling (kind of like a fluttering that briefly brushed up against the inside of my tummy!) and I've never felt anything like that before! I'm also not sure if maybe I'm just getting my hopes up, but it sure felt different and those bumps and thuds could have been baby moving and kicking right? Has anyone else tried this and had success or know what baby movements sound like with a stethoscope? Super curious to know! 😊
