Is it wrong to lie to someone about who I've been with?

I have 2 guy friends, and they're both friends with each other. One I've considered a relationship with, and the other has been my close friend for a couple of years now. I went over to the close friend's house and one thing led to another, we gave each other head but we did not have sex. The relationship guy asked what went down at his house and I lied and said we just hung out like normal. I didn't want to tell him and ruin the chances of us having a relationship. Was I wrong for this?
