When to buy shoes?

I'm 26 weeks so baby boy isn't even here yet, but I just wanted to see when all of you mommies starting putting shoes on your kids! Like should I even worry about having any for when he's born or will he just be in socks for the first few months?

My pediatrician said no shoes until baby is able to walk from one side of the room to the other. It isn't good for their feet or learning to walk. Only socks or barefoot, or soft booties when out in the cold.

I put my son in socks lol. he's 6 months now and we only put shoes on him when we are going to a special event. otherwise he's in socks or barefoot lol.

It will just be socks for a few months. We have some shoes none even fit him except one pair and he's worn then once and he's 16 weeks. It isn't like they can walk so it's more of an accessory in the beginning.

Shoes are really just cute and unnecessary until they can walk. 
Socks are really all you need until then.

I am having a baby in mid November so I wanted to get her warm shoes because I didn't think socks would cut it. My mom agreed about this since she had my sister and I in November.

Don't do it. Their feet grow at such a crazy rate is unbelievable. My boy is eight months and I just got him his first pair of shoes. It really is just going to be socks for A long time.

Occasionally I'd put shoes on my newborn but now that she's 6 months and crawling it's easier for her to crawl without them. Normally these days I put shoes on her when we go into town. 
However my newborn basically lived in the newborn slippers!

I don't put shoes on till like 6months and even then they are just for show and only soft soled ones so not actual shoes. Socks will do but it is hard to find a good sock that doesn't fall off as soon as you put it on 🙄

Mine didn't wear shoes until he was walking steadily. He still only wears them when we go out (sometimes) he's 10.5 months now.
