ICE enforcement actions in "safe" zones
I just came across the story of a family from Texas. Their baby needed to be transferred from a small hospital to a major medical center for surgery. They knew they'd have to go through a border checkpoint. Before they could even decide, ICE were at the hospital. Now, the baby did get the surgery, and seems to be doing well, but the story of how this family was treated is just heartbreaking to me. I'll post the screen shots of the story, but here is my question, what happened to traditionally safe spaces? Hospitals, schools, churches... shouldn't these spaces be protected? The baby in question is a US citizen. His medical care was delayed because his parents were taken from the hospital for processing. Do you think ICE was wrong?
