Can we please stop spreading  that LIE that "losing" your virginity is supposed to hurt. We have these girls out here in pain when they don't have to be. I was so scared of the potential blood and pain I refused to go through it until I learned better.

It isn't a mandatory across the board thing, but it definitely CAN hurt and you CAN bleed. I've always told people that it has the possibility of pain and/or bleeding, because it does. I wouldn't necessarily call it a lie when people say 'supposed to', it's just something that needs further clarification. 
Honestly though, you shouldn't even be having sex until you've taken a proper sex ed class or have at least taken it upon yourself to go online to reputable websites to educate yourself on the basics. Anyone who's done that can see the clarified, detailed possibilities that come with having sex anyway (pain, bleeding, soreness, etc) . If you're scared to have sex, you're not ready to be having it.

Yes!!!  I literally don't know anybody that bled or was painful for.... That is most definitely not everyone's story!!

I didnt bleed but it was initially painful. I think people spred their truth and it's not meant to be harmful to the person receiving the advice. Everyone has a different experience...

It all depends on your hymen. Some women have a hymen that partially covers their vagina, which either has to be snipped by a doctor or torn. (Where the term "popping the cherry" comes from) Some women do not. There are just some women that yes, no matter how aroused they get or how much foreplay they do or how much lube, it is going to hurt their first time.

I bled a little bit. It wasn't gushing and it didn't soak the sheets. But, I did bleed. It also hurt for me the first few times. Not doubled over in pain hurt but I hurt
