Baby who liked baby food now refusing.. ?

Question

I started my son with cereal at 5 months.. purées at 6 months now all by 7 months he is refusing them. As soon as I put him in his high chair he cries now.. He closes his mouth and turns his head away when I try to feed him.  Is it a stage? Teething? He doesn’t have any teeth yet.  
However he wants to try everything that is on my plate.. maybe he doesn’t like the texture of baby food?  
Ideas on safe first people food?

My daughter will eat tiny bites of soft table food but not purées. I think it’s the consistency.

We got gerber puffs and yogurt melts for her first since they melt in your mouth. 
My daughter is 7 months too and she basically always wants a bite or two of everything I eat. So I always have to try to leave a bit without hot sauce or too much seasoning. 
 Have you tried new flavors or puréed foods? 
That seemed to help a bit too, getting a ton of other mixed fruits and veggie mixes so she has a variety.

Look into Baby led weaning. My daughter lost interest in purées too so I started blw and she loves it!
