Secondary Drowning/ Owlet monitor

Beth

As I was giving my 5 week old her bath tonight I poured a cup of water on her chest and the water rushed up into her mouth. I immediately grabbed her out and patted her on her back. She gasped and gagged and cried for a few seconds and then seemed fine. I felt absolutely horrible and worried about the possibility of secondary drowning (drowning that can occur up to 24 hours after water is inhaled into the lungs) I called the oncall pediatrician and they pretty much seemed to laugh at my concerns saying she would need to be submerged for over 2 minutes...which has nothing to do with what I read about dry or delayed drowning. I'm still super worried and not sure what to do. I do have the new owlet sock that reads heartbeat and O2 levels and her readings have all been in the normal range so I'm hoping that means she's fine but I will continue to monitor her all night.
