Child support

My sons father feels as if he shouldn't have to pay child support. He feels as though because my family is better off than his I don't need it. He's only asked to pay $60 weekly thought the court system. He's now $3,000 behind. I'm a 22 yr old, working mom who also goes to school full time. Needless to say I'm broke lol. But I do stay with my parents who basically just give me a roof over our head and allow me to drive their car. Other than that, that's it. Finically I take care of my child.

He on the other hand, lives with his girlfriend and takes care of her daughter. He chooses to stay home while she goes to work. He feels as though because he's trying to make a better life for his family. So his own blood, only biological child should suffer. Finically, as well as the bond they have. He sees my son probably twice a month if that.

We have a court date coming this week and he feels like it's my fault he's potentially going to jail. He thinks it would be easier and more logical for me to just take him off child support.
