Who else had an early glucose test?

I’m pretty upset I have to have one done bc Ive had my blood sugar checked twice this year and they’ve been great numbers but bc I’m overweight I have to do the 1 hour test 🙄 what should I expect? They didn’t tell me any eating guidelines before the test. Do I need to fast?

Don't be discouraged by the test. It only takes a little bit and is to make sure your baby and you are safe through pregnancy. 
Even if you had your blood tested earlier in the year, they will recheck because pregnant women are prone to GD. Even for women who are not overweight it is a routine part of pregnancy. Hopefully your test comes back okay, good luck :)

For the 1 hr I did not have to fast, failed by 15pts but passed the fasting 3hr with flying colors. I would call your drs office and double check. I am QUITE obese and my doctor checked my blood early on, saw it was normal, and then didn’t make me due the glucose test until the normal 28wks. My dr is super body positive though and hasn’t mentioned my weight or size once. At 34wks, I am complication free and having a textbook healthy pregnancy!

I have to do it twice due to gestational hypertension..I have my 1st one on the 4th..then if it comes back negative..the second at 28wks..I’m currently 21wks..so I think it’s kinda bull!..drs make us plus size beauties feel like crap..just cuz we don’t meet “normal standards”! 🖕🏻to “normal standards”!!

I had one at 10weeks I didn't have to fast so I ate some beef jerky and drank only water. And was told by the dr today at 13weeks that my sugar test looked fantastic

I just did it this morning, I’m 16weeks. My Dr. didn’t say why I had to do it early, I just assumed it was because of my weight. I asked if I had to fast and she said not for the 1hr. Make sure to eat something before you go in, cause the drink can make a lot of people nauseous. My tummy felt a little funky but that was about it. Now just waiting for my results, hopefully they come in today or tomorrow.

I had my 1hour last week and i passed on the lab scale but not my obgyn scale so now i have to do 3hr test and im only 13 weeks so far 😡

Each facility is different. If they didn't tell you to fast then don't. I didn't have to and I passed mine. You just drink a bottle of a sugar drink and wait an hour in the lobby and then they take your blood. It's pretty painless and easy. I didn't get sick with the drink or anything. I feel like people over think it too much. And it's nothing to be upset about, our bodies can do weird things during pregnancy so they're just making sure so that they can keep you and baby safe.

I had to do early tests with both pregnancies because of my weight.  Passed with flying colors both times and still had to repeat later in pregnancy! 
If I can remember correctly you have to fast for 8 hours.
