Little parenting help?

Question

I have a 6 year old girl & 6 months old baby boy. My little girl keeps putting her hair in his face then when he grabs shouting NO, and putting her hand on him then when he touches her she shouts NO etc etc, but is worrying me that he will eventually not dare touch anything because she keeps shouting at him, I’ve explained that he just a baby and she’s this big girl if she doesn’t want him to do something she needs to step away because she’s the big girl. But she keeps doing it has anyone else had this?

I would just tell her she’s not allowed to do that and put her in timeout. I would explain to her that the baby is grabbing her hair because she is putting it in his face. If she doesn’t want him to grab her hair, she should not put it in his face. I would tell her that she’s not allowed to yell at the baby and if she does, she will be in time out. In my house I do 123 magic. So basically it’s like giving three warnings before going in timeout. So I would say, “please do not put your hair in the babies face, that’s a one.” If she does it again, or yells at the baby, “that’s a two.” If she does it again, “that’s a three, take five minutes in time out.”

I have a 6 year old girl and a 5.5 month old and my baby looooves to grab on to her sisters hair! It's down to her butt! And my 6 year old willing gives it to her to grab! But she doesn't get mad she thinks it's funny. It's a game to my baby and now whenever her sister gets close my 5.5 month literally reaches for her whole head with both hands 😂 and sometimes tries to eat her lol I would just keep telling her if she doesn't want to be grabbed then stay away! Babies grab things, it's their way of exploring! Having a big age gaps has it's down sides but we thankfully haven't had too many problems anymore. If she can't stop yelling at the baby than she simply shouldn't be near grabbing distance then.

I have a 6 year old and a 6 month old too! We don't seem to have too many issues (she has certainly had her moments, though). If shes acting up I usually let her decide between stopping, or leaving the room completely. 9/10 times she stops because she just wants to be with us. It was definitely an adjustment bringing home her sister, she was so used to having me to herself for 6 years. I try my best to give her praise for when she does positive interactions with her sister, or does something helpful. I think it helps motivate her to be a great big sister. It's hard to find balance, you don't want to hurt the older child's feelings, I totally get it, but they need to learn boundaries with their siblings and to respect momma when she lays down the rules. I also wouldn't worry too much about your baby being afraid to touch anything... I think as moms our most used word is no, and our kids still touch/do everything. 😂
