If you lived in a post-apocalyptic world, would you give up your "wants" for the greater good?

If you lived in a post-apocalyptic world and there were only a few thousand people left, and you somehow managed to to all find each other, would you let go of some/most/all of your personal beliefs and/or desires go for the overall greater good. For example, if you didn't ever want kids, would you have them? If your partner was unable to have kids, would you have kids with someone else? Would you do a job you hated? I'm sure you could think of others. Why or why not?

It honestly depends on which "wants" I'm giving up and how important they are to me.

You can justify a lot of things with "it's for the greater good." There are also a lot of wants (makeup, Netflix, Reese's peanut butter cups) that I'd be completely willing go put aside, and some, seeing my friends and family, my liberty to choose a place of living or employment, etc, that I would not put aside so easily. 
As with any society, I'd have to be convinced that it's really for the greater good taut I give anything up. Doesn't matter if its post apocalyptic or modern day.

I wouldn't have kids. I honestly don't believe we should repopulate if that happens. let humans die, we've done enough to the planet.

Depends on how much I liked the community, honestly. If there was a strong sense of comradery, peace and strength, then sure. I'd do just about anything if it meant helping the community. 
But if everyone was stuck up, pushy, and had a shit attitude, I'd tell them to fuck off and I'd go live on my own. I'm an herbal Witch. I can just as easily live off the land by myself.

Eh compromise. They want people to repopulate, sure I'd do it with a guy but the second I'm pregnant I'm hopping my gay ass back to my girlfriend.

yes and no, as in no fucking way would i have children, and i want  hildren badly some day, but in that scenario id say no, because i dont want to die possibly in childbirth because we dont have peoplemwith proper training or medical supplies.
