Cannot cook rice🤦🏼

I cannot cook rice to save my life, minute rice at that. Says its supposed to take about 10 minutes, note I am cooking just one cup of rice. Here I am 40 minutes later & it's still not done. I follow the directions to a T, but my problem is the rice is still chewy. Still a little hard? I can't do it. Anyone else have this problem or an I an idiot!? 🍚❌🤦🏼☹️

UPDATE - Y'all, I have a rice cooker & I have NEVER used it. I honestly forgot I even had it until now. I am an idiot lol. but thankfully I am not alone! Thank you ladies!
