I work at a mental hospital nursing home, the floor I was on when I first started was fine with me. The residents do get violent but i can safely control them. I recently changed shifts and they put me in a different floor that i HATE! They are extremely under staffed and some of the staff they do have are lazy and have bad attitudes. The resident there are mostly dependent but they still fight so it’s difficult and unsafe for one person to attend them by themselves. Some of the more experienced cna can so they don’t want to help those of us who cant. Everyday I struggle and worry I’m going to have an accident with a resident that I can’t control myself. I really want to quit before something happens where I could loose my license but I’m so short on money I can’t afford going who knows how long with no income 😫.
