When should I call a Dr?

So this is my first and I just found out Friday morning, confirmed with Digital yesterday. Since the holidays are coming do I call ASAP or wait till after Thanksgiving? I also just moved to a new town and don’t have a Dr and haven’t picked which hospital system to go through either. I also selfishly want to wait to go in because I want to hear the heartbeat right away and not have to wait for a later appt.

You should call as soon as you find out, but either way they usually won’t set the appointment until your 8 week. I called same day and was set for like two weeks later.

I called as soon as I got a positive test. And then the front desk girls knew what to do and when to schedule me for. Because every ob is different. So they scheduled me for a confirmation test at the office where they just did a pregnancy test and family history and pregnancy info with a nurse (didn't see my ob) and then after that appointment, they scheduled me for an 8 week appointment with an ultrasound. So I would just call right away, they'll know when to schedule you based off of what their practice does.

Check with insurance and find a doctor in your network. You can make an appointment and if you don't care for the doctor or hospital you can always switch later.
