The people in my state support rape apparently

There's a lot of controversy in my state currently, as a woman accused a man running for senator of raping her when she was only 14. Now, I don't know what happened, so I don't expect anyone to believe one way or another. I don't even know what I believe yet. I haven't decided, but a video of her talking about it was posted on a Facebook page for my state, and the comments are so disgusting. I just don't know what to think. I'm so disgusted by my fellow citizens.
